Abstract

The Juneau ice field found east of the City of Juneau in South East Alaska is one of the largest ice fields in the region. As such, the Snow-Machine Club of Juneau has been using it as a recreation site for many years. Recently plans have been discussed to build an access road up to a parking lot near the base of the Ice field in order to facilitate access and increase both recreational and professional use.

The goal of our project is to determine the best path for the road, based on slope and cost while also establishing a suitable area for a parking lot.
