The Juneau Snow-machine Club (JSC) has over 1000 members and is one of the main groups who regularly accesses the Glacier. Along with alpine enthusiasts a well defined and regularly maintained road and parking lot would be strongly welcomed by the community. Allowing for easier access and more tourist development. Indeed as mentioned in the project proposal "This project plan attempts to accommodate a variety of user groups, including, but not limited to, the Juneau Snowmobile Club, Juneau Alpine and Nordic Ski Clubs, Juneau Alpine Club, organized hiking groups, and individual outdoor recreation users".

The goal of our project is to develop a least cost path. The intricate path will begin off a quarry access road and will climb up to 1000 feet where a parking lot for 30 cars will be available. Using slope angles, elevation, environmental sensitivity index and land use data as our cost criteria, the best possible road will be outlined.
